"About two weeks before I was to leave on a trip to Costa Rica I was attacked by bees. Yes, I know it sounds funny, but believe me when I say after that I was in no mood to think about going anywhere that might have flying biting insects. In an effort to get me on the plane my boyfriend and I went on a hunt for the best insect repellent we could find. All research indicated that only DEET based products really worked. The trouble with that is the smell. So when we found your site we decided to purchase the vanilla scented spray. The following pictures say it all. Before going in the rain forests we sprayed ourselves down. We were swinging from trees covered in all kinds of creepy crawly things. Not to mention the air which was alive with bugs of all kinds. We were the only two on the tour not bothered or bitten by insects. They were all around us, but they never even landed on either of us. I had the best vacation of my life and I owe it all to you!! "I told you I would get back to you after purchasing bugspray from you at the Minnesota State Fair. I and my wife stopped at your booth and asked questions about your bugspray and would it work for me to use for bear hunting with a bow in Wisconsin. I purchased the vanilla scent for I wanted something to keep away the mosquitoes and deer flies and yet have a fragrance that was not alarming to the bear. This year the weather was quite hot and buggy. Bear season opened for the baiters on Sept. 10 (2003). When I would go into my bait station I would leave my t-shirt sprayed with the vanilla bugspray at the stand so the bear would get used to the smell. I, also, wore it on my clothing to keep the bugs away. I found the fragrance of the vanilla scent to be pleasant. Opening day I wore the vanilla scent into my bear stand at 4:00 p.m. At 5:50 a 300 lb. male bear came down wind into my station. He stopped about 25 yards from my stand, stopped and put his nose into the air. He was not alarmed. Then he walked forward another few yards, stopped and put his nose into the air again. He could smell me, but was not alarmed. I had no other cover-up scent on. Then he ran a short burst about 10 yards, stopped and then came into the bait station relaxed and not afraid. I was able to make a 12 yard shot and kill my first black bear with a bow. I felt the vanilla bugspray was very beneficial to the hunt. Thank you for helping my bear hunt to be so successful.
